Do Any of These Sound Familiar?
Changes in vaginal and urinary health can happen after childbirth, during perimenopause or menopause, or simply over time. You may notice one change or several.
Vaginal Dryness, Burning or Irritation
Dryness can cause itching, burning, sensitivity, or general vaginal discomfort. Some women also notice decreased natural lubrication, particularly during perimenopause and after menopause.
Discomfort or Pain During Intimacy
Vaginal dryness and changes in vaginal tissue can make intercourse uncomfortable or painful. Pain during intercourse is also known medically as dyspareunia.
Urinary Urgency or Frequency
Feeling a sudden need to urinate, needing to go more often than usual, or frequently worrying about finding a bathroom can interfere with everyday activities.
Small Urine Leaks
Do you leak urine when you cough, sneeze, laugh, exercise, or jump? This type of bladder leakage is known as stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
Vaginal Looseness or Laxity
Some women or their partners notice a feeling of vaginal looseness or reduced tightness, particularly after vaginal childbirth. These changes may affect physical comfort, sensation, or confidence.
Changes During Perimenopause & Menopause
Declining estrogen levels can affect vaginal moisture, elasticity, and tissue health. These changes may be associated with genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), sometimes referred to as vaginal atrophy.
Feeling Different After Childbirth
Pregnancy and delivery can change the vaginal and pelvic tissues. Even long after childbirth, some women notice differences in comfort, sensation, vaginal support, or bladder control.
You Don’t Have to Diagnose Yourself.
Several conditions can cause similar symptoms, and the right treatment depends on why the changes are happening.
Tell Dr. Levy what you’ve been experiencing. A gynecologic evaluation can help identify the cause and determine which treatment options may be appropriate for you.
Your Vaginal Rejuvenation Options
One Concern Doesn’t Always Mean One Treatment
Vaginal rejuvenation is not a single procedure. The right approach depends on what you’re experiencing, what may be causing it, and what you hope to improve.
At Dr. Levy’s office, treatment is personalized after a gynecologic evaluation and may include FemiLift™ fractional CO2 laser treatment, PRP vaginal rejuvenation, or surgical vaginal rejuvenation. In many cases, treatment will also require medications to improve your vaginal health.
Not Sure Which Option You Need?
You don’t need to decide before your appointment.
Tell Dr. Levy what has changed and what is bothering you. Your evaluation will help determine which treatment—or combination of treatments—may be appropriate for your individual needs.
How Does FemiLift Work?
FemiLift is an in-office, non-surgical fractional CO2 laser procedure. A specialized vaginal probe delivers controlled laser energy to targeted areas of the vaginal tissue.
The fractional laser creates tiny, controlled treatment zones while leaving surrounding areas between them untreated. This is designed to trigger the body’s natural healing and tissue-remodeling response.
Understanding the Tissue-Remodeling Process
Collagen & Elastin Remodeling
Fractional CO2 energy is designed to stimulate a healing response involving collagen and elastin, proteins that play an important role in tissue structure and elasticity.
Vaginal Tissue Remodeling
As the tissue responds to the controlled laser treatment, remodeling occurs within the treated area. This biological response is the basis for using fractional CO2 technology in vaginal rejuvenation, a technique also known as vaginal laser resurfacing.
Vaginal Comfort & Lubrication
FemiLift is used in women seeking treatment for concerns such as vaginal dryness, irritation and discomfort during intimacy.
Urinary Support
Fractional CO2 vaginal laser has also been studied for urinary concerns, including stress urinary incontinence—small urine leaks that occur with coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercise.
Because urinary symptoms can have different causes, Dr. Levy will evaluate your symptoms before determining whether FemiLift or another treatment approach may be appropriate.
Benefits of FemiLift™ Vaginal Rejuvenation
FemiLift offers a non-surgical approach to vaginal rejuvenation for women experiencing intimate changes related to childbirth, aging, perimenopause, or menopause. Depending on your symptoms and individual evaluation, potential benefits may include:
Non-Surgical & Minimally Invasive
FemiLift is performed without incisions or sutures. A specialized vaginal probe delivers fractional CO2 laser energy directly to the targeted vaginal tissue.
Quick, In-Office Treatment
A FemiLift treatment typically takes approximately 15–30 minutes and is performed right here in our gynecology office.
Minimal Downtime
FemiLift is designed to require little recovery time, allowing most women to return to their usual daily activities immediately. Your doctor will provide instructions about exercise, sexual activity, and other temporary restrictions after treatment.
Vaginal Dryness & Lubrication
Fractional CO2 vaginal laser treatment has been studied for vaginal dryness, irritation, decreased lubrication, and menopause-related vaginal changes. By stimulating tissue remodeling and improving circulation in the vaginal mucosa, FemiLift is intended to support vaginal tissue health and comfort.
Vaginal Tone & Elasticity
Collagen and elastin remodeling may help improve the structure, tone, and elasticity of vaginal tissue, including changes women may notice following childbirth or with age.
Comfort During Intimacy
Women experiencing vaginal dryness or discomfort during intercourse (dyspareunia) may ask about FemiLift as a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation option. Improving vaginal tissue quality and lubrication may contribute to greater comfort during intimacy.
Stress Urinary Incontinence
FemiLift and other fractional CO2 vaginal lasers have been studied for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) — small urine leaks that occur when coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or jumping. Dr. Levy can evaluate the cause and severity of urinary leakage and discuss appropriate treatment options.
Personalized to Your Needs
Vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, vaginal laxity, and urinary leakage can have different causes. Your treatment plan is based on your symptoms, examination, medical history, and individual goals.
FemiLift™ FAQ
Is FemiLift painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during treatment. Some women describe a warming sensation as the fractional CO2 laser energy is delivered. Individual experiences can vary.
How long does a FemiLift treatment take?
Treatment typically takes approximately 15–30 minutes and is performed in the privacy of our gynecology office.
Is there downtime after FemiLift?
FemiLift generally requires minimal downtime, and most women can return to their usual daily activities relatively quickly. You will receive specific instructions regarding exercise, sexual activity, and other temporary restrictions following treatment.
When can I have sex after FemiLift?
Most women can resume sexual activity 5 to 7 days after treatment.
How many FemiLift treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on your symptoms, tissue condition, goals, and response to treatment. On average, three initial treatment sessions spaced two months apart are needed. Dr. Levy will recommend a treatment plan based on your individual evaluation.
When will I notice results?
FemiLift is designed to stimulate a healing and tissue-remodeling response, so changes may develop over time rather than immediately. The timing and degree of improvement vary from woman to woman.
How long do FemiLift results last?
The duration of results varies between patients and can be influenced by age, hormonal changes, childbirth, the concern being treated, and individual response. Some women may eventually consider additional or maintenance treatment.
Can FemiLift help with vaginal dryness?
FemiLift and other fractional CO2 vaginal lasers have been studied for vaginal dryness and menopause-related vaginal symptoms. Whether it is appropriate depends on the cause of the dryness and the individual patient’s medical history.
Can FemiLift help with urinary leakage?
Fractional CO2 vaginal laser has been studied for stress urinary incontinence (SUI)—small urine leaks with coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or jumping. In our experience, and as reported in the medical literature, a significant number of patients will experience life-changing improvement or complete resolution of stress urinary incontinence. Because urinary leakage has different causes and treatment options, a gynecologic evaluation is important before deciding on treatment.
Can FemiLift help with painful intercourse?
Vaginal dryness and changes in vaginal tissue can contribute to pain or discomfort during intercourse (dyspareunia). Improvement in vaginal dryness, elasticity, mucosal quality and circulation relieves sexual discomfort. Therefore, FemiLift may transform painful intercourse into a pleasant experience again. Dr. Levy can evaluate the cause of your symptoms and discuss whether FemiLift or another treatment may be appropriate.
Am I a good candidate for FemiLift?
That depends on your symptoms, medical history, examination, and goals. Not every vaginal or urinary concern should be treated with FemiLift. Your consultation with Dr. Levy is designed to determine the cause of your symptoms and which treatment option makes the most sense for you.
Is FemiLift the same as vaginal rejuvenation?
No. Vaginal rejuvenation is a broader category of treatment. FemiLift is one non-surgical option using fractional CO2 laser technology. Depending on your needs, Dr. Levy may also discuss PRP vaginal rejuvenation or surgical vaginal rejuvenation.

A Regenerative, Non-Surgical Approach to Intimate Wellness
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) vaginal rejuvenation is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment that uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood.
PRP contains concentrated platelets and growth factors involved in the body’s natural healing and tissue-repair processes. When injected into targeted vaginal or vulvar tissue, PRP is used with the goal of supporting tissue health, blood flow, sensitivity, and sexual function.
How Does PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation Work?
Blood Draw
A small sample of your blood is collected in specialized tubes.
PRP Preparation
The blood is processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma.
Comfort
A topical or local anesthetic may be used to help minimize discomfort during treatment.
Targeted Injections
The prepared PRP is carefully injected into specific vaginal and/or vulvar areas based on your symptoms and treatment goals.
In-Office Procedure
The procedure is performed in our gynecology office and does not require surgery or hospitalization.
Why Do Women Consider PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Depending on your symptoms, examination, and goals, PRP may be considered for:
Vaginal Dryness & Tissue Changes
PRP has been studied for vaginal and vulvar tissue changes, dryness, and vulvovaginal atrophy, including changes associated with menopause.
Discomfort During Intimacy
Women experiencing vaginal dryness or discomfort during intercourse may ask about PRP as part of a broader vaginal health treatment plan.
Sensitivity & Sexual Response
PRP has been studied in women experiencing reduced genital sensitivity and female sexual dysfunction.
Orgasmic Function
Women concerned about decreased orgasmic sensation or difficulty reaching orgasm may also ask about PRP. Targeted PRP injections into specific vaginal and vulvar areas may significantly enhance the orgasmic experience. Sexual function is complex and can be influenced by hormonal, physical, medication-related, psychological, and relationship factors, so evaluation is important before treatment.
Stress Urinary Incontinence
PRP injections have also been investigated for stress urinary incontinence—small urine leaks when coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or jumping.
Postpartum & Menopausal Changes
Women may notice changes in vaginal comfort, tissue quality, sensitivity, or sexual response following childbirth or during hormonal transitions such as perimenopause and menopause.
Is PRP Right for You?
You don’t need to know which treatment you need before your appointment.
Tell Dr. Levy what has changed and what you would like to improve. He can evaluate your concerns and discuss which treatment options may be appropriate for you.
When Structural Changes Need a Surgical Approach
Vaginal rejuvenation can include several surgical procedures designed to address changes in the structure, function, or appearance of the vaginal and vulvar area.
For some women—particularly after pregnancy, vaginal childbirth, aging, or significant changes in vaginal support—a surgical approach may be considered when the concern is more structural and cannot be adequately addressed with a non-surgical treatment alone.
Surgical Options May Include
Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty is designed to address vaginal laxity and changes in the vaginal canal and supporting tissues. It may be considered by women who experience significant vaginal looseness during intercourse or other structural changes, particularly following childbirth.
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty reshapes or reduces the labia minora and/or labia majora. Women may consider the procedure because of physical discomfort, asymmetry, changes after childbirth, or concerns about the appearance of the labia. Labiaplasty relieves discomfort and enhances self-confidence.
Perineoplasty
Perineoplasty addresses the perineum—the area between the vaginal opening and anus. It may be considered when this area has been stretched, weakened, or affected by childbirth, tearing, or previous repair.
Which Surgical Option Is Right for You?
Every woman’s anatomy and concerns are different. The appropriate treatment depends on what has changed, where the change is occurring, your symptoms, medical history, and your individual goals.
After an examination, Dr. Levy can discuss whether vaginoplasty, labiaplasty, perineoplasty, or a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation option may be appropriate for you.
Not Sure Which Treatment Is Right for You?
You don’t need to know which procedure you need before making an appointment.
Whether you’re experiencing vaginal dryness, discomfort during intimacy, urinary leakage, vaginal laxity, changes after childbirth, or concerns about orgasm, the appearance or function of the vaginal or vulvar area, the first step is understanding what is causing the change.
