Contraceptive implants

These implants work by gradually releasing progesterone and will prevent pregnancy by stopping the ovaries from releasing eggs. These implants are normally effective for around three years and do not require any daily attention, so they are both convenient and effective.

Implanting the small, thin, matchstick-size contraceptive is simple and is done right in the office. Implant (“Nexplanone”) placed under the skin of arm, and is not visible. The procedure is also easy to reverse, and estrogen-free, so it is a good option for many women.
