Birth Control

There are many options available today in the way of birth control, including oral contraceptives, Patches, implants, and IUDs. These are all reliable ways to prevent pregnancy and can also be used to help manage other reproductive health issues like irregular periods and are even used sometimes to control acne.

Oral contraceptives are taken daily and contain hormones that regulate ovulation. Implants are small rod-shaped devices that are placed under the skin and gradually release hormones, they only contain Progesterone. IUD is a tiny T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus and is available in hormonal or non-hormonal versions. Many women prefer an IUD or an implant because they offer longer-term Reversible protection and remove the hassle of having to worry about birth control every day.

There is also a new generation of Spermicidal gels, that are inserted in the vagina immediately before sex. this is non-hormonal and has to be repeated before each intercourse. Also, they are kind of messy, due to melting and leaking out of the vagina during sex, hence many women find it not so convenient. In addition, it provides lower protection from pregnancy than OCP, patches, Implants, or IUDs

We can help you navigate these choices and find the best birth control method to fit your lifestyle, needs, and circumstances.
